| 23/5/2016 4:00 PM Quality and Comfort by Bev from Syd - verified purchaser Bought these because I wanted to try the platform XT pedals (PD-9020) after a lifetime spent on the non-platform XC pedals (XT/Time).I liked the idea of a more rearward cleat adjustment, as I always run my cleats as far back as I can.I originally tried the normal last M200 in size 44. The toe box was way too narrow. As I could not find a "W" in the M200, I went with the M089 in the "W" last. The M089W is significantly wider in the toe box - I could maybe get away with a 43 in the "W", but the 44 is fine as is.The shoe is very conforming, and I find it easy to fasten tight enough to stop any movement, but loose enough so as to allow blood to flow to the toes.Cleats are positioned fully rearward, and I like the extra couple of mm that this has gained me in terms of feet-forward placement. One thing I noticed which I have not seen mentioned anywhere, is that it seems the pedal spindle to foot height has been reduced. I'm not sure if this is real, or maybe an artifact of my previous (Specialized) shoes. In any case, the feel is very similar to running good flat pedals with a set of 5Tens. Shoes are very comfortable to walk in, and the sole feels quite grippy. In short, I can't fault them. I expect them to last a long time, as every previous pair of Shimano shoes I've owned have.
